The Port Chester Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Social Worker-Bilingual (Spanish) to join our team for the 2024-25 school year. The successful candidate will work with a diverse student population and be instrumental in supporting our Full-Service Community School Forward model.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Implement the Full-Service Community School Forward model, ensuring collaboration and partnership in activities that promote parental involvement and the effective operation of all programs, including health, mental health, after-school, and professional development services.Collaborate with colleagues to develop, implement, and evaluate the community school plan.Foster a supportive school environment that enhances home/school connections.Provide family outreach, support services, and parent counseling and training as needed.Assess and coordinate community services based on the needs of the school community.Provide regular updates to the Principal, Director, and Community School Advisory Board.Serve as a liaison between schools and community-based partner organizations.Collaborate with community organizations and county agencies to address school community needs.Assist in grant writing and facilitate on-site facility use by community agencies.Develop and manage a community school newsletter for families, community members, and collaborating organizations.Represent the school at community meetings and events.Participate in school-wide planning and governance teams.Develop and update instruments to measure partnership effectiveness and conduct needs assessments to create an annual plan aimed at improving programming outcomes, aligned with school improvement goals and district initiatives.Organize and conduct parent/family workshops that provide information on resources to enhance family life and support children's education.Coordinate and oversee social services for families as needed.Assist in student social development and address other student-related matters as necessary.Contribute to other areas of the school and district as required.Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance in collaboration with parents and community- based organizations.Investigate serious attendance issues and custodial residency cases as assigned.Initiate workshops, campaigns, and programs to support student and family well-being.Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation of community interactions and engagements.Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or district administration.Qualifications:Valid NYS certification as a School Social Worker is required.Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
