How will you ensure success for every student? RESPONSIBILITIES: Incorporate the Computer Science & Digital Literacy standards into the library curriculum.Collaborate with teachers to design interdisciplinary lessons that enhance students’ digital literacy and computational thinking to support classroom content.Experience with instruction on information and technology literacy skills, including the research process and digital citizenship.Experience in evaluating and selecting print and digital resources that represent the diversity of our student body.Leadership, organizational, and budget management skills.Ability to successfully interact with student and staff from various disciplines and with differing skills.Experience creating innovative and engaging lessons both independently as well as collaboratively with teachers.Planning instruction and developing the library media program using NY State Standards and school’s curricula.Collaborating with staff to enhance student learning and engagement.Developing a culture of reading and promote reading as a foundational skill for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment.Planning and providing instruction that addresses multiple literacies, including information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy.Create and maintain an inviting, safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that fosters intellectual inquiry.Collaborate with teaching staff to create an environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, and ensures resource-based instructional practices.Develop and maintain an up-to-date, culturally diverse collection of print and non-print resources appropriate to the curriculum, the instructional strategies used, and reflect students’ interests.Promote the school library as an integral part of the school community and students’ overall learning experience.
