The Business Education Liaison’s primary duties are to engage regional businesses and organizations to form meaningful partnerships for the betterment of CiTi BOCES’ students. The duties will include making initial contacts, planning, and facilitating meetings that end in development, improvement, or alterations to student programming. The Business Education Liaison works directly with school administration, industry partners, teachers, and counselors to plan and develop career related experiences and curriculum to meet the needs of our students and the region. The Liaison will also recruit, manage, and nurture partnerships with local businesses.Duties and Responsibilities Include: Build productive relationships with regional businesses and appropriate business stakeholders (e.g., economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, professional/trade groups, etc.) directed at developing partnership opportunities and programs that are beneficial to the needs of CiTi BOCES students as well as the participating businesses and stakeholders; Build enhanced and on-going awareness of teachers, guidance counselors and other school district administrators about the region’s businesses with a particular focus on promoting potential careers and/or job opportunities through the development of such initiatives as forums, facility tours and internships;Provides support to school administrators to help them in the development and restructuring of student programming including career academies, pathways, work-based learning experiences;Represent the BOCES in a variety of activities related to community based relations;Represents the BOCES on a number of education and workforce committees;Oversees and coordinates Career Center;Provides problem-solving and follow-up activities after initial partnerships are identified.Qualifications:Passionate commitment to the future of our students and the communityExceptional skills in collaboration, communication, public speaking, and critical thinkingDemonstrated ability to problem-solveInnovative leadership that demonstrates strategic thinking, creativity, and tact measured by real and productive partnershipsDemonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and organizationsUnderstanding of current communication modes, including the use of social media to promote events and accomplishmentsThe highest level of personal and professional integrity and quality standardsAbility to represent the needs of both business and educationBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Education preferred, but not required
