Effective communication skills and attention to details are a must. The successful candidate will work with staff to create a safe and productive learning environment for all students.The principal of the day treatment program is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality special education services to children and adolescents with severe emotional or behavioral issues within an embedded mental health clinic. The principal works collaboratively with Hillside Family of Agencies as the mental health partner to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and standards related to day treatment services. The principal collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals including, but not limited to therapists, behavioral support professionals, nurses, teachers, teaching assistants and component school districts to provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for students and their families. QualificationsMaster’s degree or higher in education, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related fieldValid state license or certification as a school building leaderAt least five years of experience working with children and adolescents with mental health issues in an educational setting.Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with a diverse population of students, families, staff, and community partners.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to the mission and values of the day treatment program
