RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary focus will be on students with high referral rates. Promote a school environment that is safe, welcoming, inclusive, and affirming for all students. Oversee, prepare and implement restorative practices for the school. Communicate and collaborate with staff, administration, students, and parents. Support, address, and monitor student behavior and concerns. Establish systems and procedures to maintain and monitor student attendance, consequences,restorative practices, and progress monitoring records. Meet with and monitor/supervise students when pulled from instruction or when serving anin-school consequence. Provide guidance to students to help navigate school and social situations, which will includefacilitating/participating student conflict resolution practices, mediations, and other restorativepractices. Assign students for assistance with academic work for students. Collaborate and coordinate with faculty and staff. Provide coverage and student supervision when needed. Participate in job-related training and provide training related to school culture, climate, andrestorative practices. Manage multiple students, tasks, and needs throughout the day, which will involve activeparticipation and engagement throughout the building during the school day. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Meet professional education requirements of school, district and state. Other duties as assigned by the OHS leadership team.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: In depth knowledge of social emotional learning approaches and experience in implementingSEL to cultivate a school that is affirming, inclusive, and welcoming. Demonstrated knowledge of the restorative practices in schools and/or willingness to gainthorough knowledge and training of restorative practices as soon as possible. Demonstrated knowledge of NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Frameworks Ability to analyze data to improve student engagement, behavior, and school culture. Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth;actively seeks professional learning opportunities. Secondary school experience as a teacher/school counselor/school social worker. Bilingual English-Spanish is strongly encouraged. Possession of appropriate New York State School Social Worker, or School Counselor, orTeacher Certification required. Bilingual preferred. OTA contractual rate.REPORTS TO: Building Principal
