Job Description: The Rockland County Department of Nyack Public Schools is seeking a candidate to work in their fast-paced facilities department. The work is specialized, diverse and can be complex in nature.) This is skilled mechanical work in one or more trade areas involving the maintenance and repair of buildings and their appurtenances, public works structures, various types of machinery and mechanical assemblies and automotive equipment. Assignments may also include work in trade areas requiring a lower level of proficiency, depending on agency needs. The work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level mechanic or supervisor. Employees may provide occasional work guidance (e.g., lead work) to a small number of assistants and helpers. Employees in this title may be on call outside their regularly scheduled hours. Does related work as required. The work is performed under the general supervision of a Facilities Director Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years of paid construction and/or maintenance work experience in one or more of the trade skills listed below. (Time spent as a Laborer or Trade Helper will not be considered qualifying). Other Requirements and Information: High school vocational training, technical school training, or formal apprenticeship training in a trade skill may be substituted for the required paid work experience on a year-for-year basis. Salary and Benefits: Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following: - $80,000- 85,000_ Hourly Salary/Annual Salary - 40 Hour work week - Medical, Dental and Vision - Time off including vacation, personal and holiday time - New York State Pension eligibility - Other benefits, including, but not limited to deferred compensation, tuition reimbursement, leadership and other professional development training
