Elementary Instrumental Music - Band Specialist Vacancy Nyack Public Schools is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure track position serving elementary school (grades 4-5) students in a vibrant, diverse community for the 2023-2024 school year.Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching band instruments with an emphasis on music literacy, students’ social emotional well-being, equity, and social justice. Candidates must be certified in Music Education and should demonstrate strong knowledge of beginning band pedagogy, outstanding conducting/rehearsal skills, strong knowledge of appropriate band repertoire/methods, and effective use of technology in the classroom.Qualities required include Departmental, Building, and District-wide collaboration, excellent communication skills, and culturally responsive teaching.
