The Nyack Public School District is seeking a Director of Bilingual/ENL to lead the development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Bilingual/ENL instructional programs to ensure that all students meet and exceed the NYS Learning Standards and comply with Part 154 Regulations. The successful candidate must:Possess NYS-SDA/SDL (Required). Have successful experiences as a building or district level administrator.Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to motivate people.Plan, organize, and direct all activities pertaining to K-12 Bilingual and ESL instructional programming for our ELLs aligned with NYS Learning Standards and Assessments.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation. Demonstrate knowledge of best practices related to learning, language, and literacy development, instructional strategies, classroom management, formative and summative assessments, and equity. Specifically, the successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of literacy and language acquisition as it relates to ELLs.Collaborate with principals and other administrators to ensure coordination of instructional programs among all schools.Coordinate the selection, utilization, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.Develop, implement, and evaluate the Bilingual/ESL/ENL Program and prepare Title III and Part 154 grant applications in partnership with Central Office Administration.Observe, supervise and evaluate staff.Plan, schedule, and implement programs of in-service training for teachers and related staff.Develop budget and staffing recommendations for areas of responsibility.Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English and a second language, both orally and in writing.Other duties and assignment commensurate with the position as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.
