Nyack Public Schools is seeking candidates for a long term substitute Vocal Music teacher serving Liberty Elementary school (Grades K-5) students in a vibrant, diverse community for the anticipated period of 6/3/2024 - 6/26/2024. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching choir with an emphasis on music literacy, students’ social emotional well-being, equity, and social justice. Knowledge of vocal pedagogy and functional piano skills are highly desirable. The candidate will be responsible for the Spring Concert season on June 5th. Qualities required include Departmental, Building, and District-wide collaboration, excellent communication skills, and culturally responsive teaching. Candidates must be certified in Music Education; additional certifications such as Kodaly, Orff and/or Dalcroze, or other relevant training pertaining to the position are highly encouraged.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
