Nyack Public Schools is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure track position serving middle school (6-8) students in a vibrant, diverse community for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching strings with an emphasis on music literacy, students’ social-emotional well-being, equity, and social justice. Candidates must be certified in Music Education and should demonstrate strong knowledge of string pedagogy, outstanding conducting/rehearsal skills, strong knowledge of middle school string repertoire (NYSSMA Level II - IV and effective use of technology in the classroom. Qualities required include departmental, building, and district-wide collaboration, excellent communication skills, and culturally responsive teaching. Candidates must be certified in NYS Music PreK-12 (K-12); additional certifications such as Kodaly, Orff and/or Dalcroze, or other relevant training pertaining to the position are highly encouraged.
