The Niskayuna Central School District has an opening and is now accepting applications for a full-time TOSA - Behavior Specialist.GENERAL STATEMENT:Valid NYS certification as a School Social WorkerBCBA or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis preferredMust have strong working knowledge of PBIS/RtI/MTSSExperience working with children/adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disordersExperience developing Functional Behavioral Assessments/Behavior Intervention Plans, positive behavioral supportsExperience working with staff and administrators on interventions to support student behaviorPreferred candidates will also have deep familiarity with TCIS RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides consultation regarding best practices of MTSS (tiered interventions) implementation, related to social-emotional learningAssists with the development and implementation of district wide policies, practices and proceduresProvides consultation and intervention regarding behavior management, effective education and assessment of behavioral needs of students with and without disabilitiesConducts student consultations to inform behavior support practicesDesigns, implements and monitors behavior programs for studentsPrepares written reports, as needed by the district to outside psychiatric professionals/community agencies re: behavioral concerns of students with or without disabilitiesConducts classroom observations to support behavior related management & instructionPossesses the ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and design, implement and monitor behavior intervention plansServes as a member of the CSE for students with behavioral concernsProvides teacher-coaching & support related to classroom managementCollects & analyzes data to inform behavioral practices across the districtOther duties as assignedCollects & analyzes data to inform behavioral practices across the districtJob QualificationsNYS Certification - School Social WorkerNiskayuna will only accept completed applications which must also include the following materials which should be uploaded to your application: a cover letter, resume, 3 letters of reference, transcripts, certification(s) and an essay answering why you chose to work in the education field and why you'd like to work for the Niskayuna CSD.
