The Norwich City School District seeks a Science Teacher for probationary tenure-track position, beginning immediately. The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to: Provide student-centered, engaging Science instruction for a range of learners at multiple levels Possess a strong commitment to creating a supportive learning environment and school culture Deliver effective instruction to prepare for the NYS Science Regents exam and beyond Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed Possess a proven ability to interact effectively with students and their families who represent cultures that are diverse in terms of race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other characteristics in order to build an effective and collaborative school community Recognize trauma's impact on the brain and how to support and be responsive to all learners Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
