Position Summary:The Career Services Coordinator will co-design and facilitate NCSD’s career programming for students, in collaboration with our collective care team and administrators. The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive plan that supports all students in exploring, planning, and preparing for post-secondary pathways, including college, career, and technical education options. This individual will work collaboratively with students, caregivers, staff, and community partners to provide meaningful career development experiences and services. This is a full-time, 12-month position that ensures year-round career readiness support for students in grades 9-12. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the development of a district-wide career programming plan, in partnership with the collective care teamProvide individual and group support sessions focused on career exploration, goal setting, resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategiesAdminister and interpret career assessments to help students identify their interests, strengths, and career possibilitiesCoordinate experiential career events such as career fairs, job shadowing, guest speakers, and industry site visitsBuild and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry representatives, post-secondary institutions, and workforce development agenciesAssist students in creating individualized career development plans that align with academic pathways and graduation goalsGuide students through applications for internships, apprenticeships, vocational programs, cooperative education, and entry-level employmentSupport college and career readiness efforts, including FAFSA assistance, college application guidance, and scholarship navigationCollaborate with school staff, including administrators, educators, and special education personnel, to provide coordinated career development supportStay informed on labor market trends, in-demand career fields, credentialing programs, and training opportunitiesUse platforms such as Xello and other college/career planning tools to monitor and document student engagement and outcomesProvide summer programming, including career readiness workshops and assistance for students transitioning to post-secondary plansCollect, evaluate, and report data to assess impact and guide program improvementParticipate in ongoing professional development and maintain required credentials Required Qualifications:Master’s degree in a related field such as education, counseling, workforce development, or human servicesValid NYS certification in pupil personnel services or a related area (e.g., School Counselor or eligibility for such certification)Experience supporting high school and/or middle school students with career planning, transition services, or academic advisingFamiliarity with career development tools, workforce data, and post-secondary planning resources
