About NIS: The New Interdisciplinary School is an innovative, cutting edge early childhood learning center that respects the unique needs of all children and their families. Our commitment is to provide educational and therapeutic services in a nurturing environment with the highest standards of practice.Self-Contained/Integrated/UPK Program: Children are placed by CPSE in self-contained and integrated classrooms, staffed by NYS certified teachers and support staff. Small group learning centers, whole group, and individualized instruction within an interdisciplinary model. Participating school districts offer eligible 4-year old students UPK services at NIS and/or district utilizing The Creative Curriculum. Classes focus on meeting kindergarten readiness goals in an environment promoting exploration, social skills development, and positive learning experiences within a relationship-based early learning community.About the Role: NIS is seeking an enthusiastic and motivational leader for our Self-Contained, Integrated, and UPK Programs. This professional will have a passion for working with children with varied abilities, experience supervising curriculum and instruction for staff at a preschool level. The supervisor will be committed to evidence-based practices and effectively lead staff toward student driven outcomes within a developmentally appropriate instructional model. This role entails hands-on classroom supervision, coaching and interfacing with teachers regarding curriculum implementation, classroom management, IEP goals and report writing. The supervisor will conduct ongoing observations and fidelity checks and will lead weekly supervisory meetings with classroom staff. The supervisor will work with the Education Director to coordinate and/or provide staff training and program development and is responsible for staff performance reviews.Requirements:Master’s Degree in Special Education, Dual Certification a plusNYS Certification Birth- 2nd GradeMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a general or special education settingStrong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills requiredWilling to travel locally to oversee offsite programs2-plus years’ supervisory or related experienceKnowledge of the Creative Curriculum and GOLD Assessment a plusApply on OLAS
