Title: Prevention Worker (Hourly Employee, Monday-Friday; 8:45am-3:00- Paid for 5.5hours a day; No Benefits)Salary: $40.00 (Hourly wage) Description: Will work directly with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and the Prevention Department to deliver instruction to students in grades K-6 for prevention, health and wellness and other social-emotional based topics. Expectations: · Deliver classroom lessons, presentations, activities, service clubs, and trainings that are directed toward increasing children’s protective factors· Facilitate evidence-based programs, such as Second Step and Too Good For Violence/Drugs, in K-6 classrooms· Facilitate friendship and anti-bullying lunch programs· Facilitate small skills practice and discussion groups to reinforce and model appropriate behavior· Facilitate SADD Clubs, Friendship Matters, or other building-wide student clubs· Input data in WITNYS computer program· Experience with Microsoft Office· Other related duties as assigned Requirements:· Appropriate Credentialed Prevention Professional/Prevention Specialist (CPP/CPS), mental health professional (social worker, school counselor, psychologist), health educator or nurse. Or, appropriate Early Childhood Education certification. · Candidate must have fingerprint clearance Employment Term:This is position is an hourly position and does not include benefits. It will require some travel between elementary school buildings.
