Anticipated Vacancy 2025Assistant Cook – Robert Moses Middle SchoolPart -Time (6 hour day)Start: February 14, 2025The Assistant Cook is responsible for food preparation and routine cooking under the supervision of the Cook. The incumbent assists the Cook in all phases of work and assumes responsibility for the kitchen and cafeteria staff during their absence. Routine cooking includes, but is not limited to slicing, cutting, seasoning, grilling, roasting, assembling, and carving foods on a large scale. Duties include the operation of standard cooking equipment, maintaining the kitchen area in a clean and sanitary condition and serving from the serving line when necessary. Applicant needs to be able to keep simple records, understand and follow oral and written instructions, lift up to 30 lbs, and have some knowledge of large scale cooking methods. Food Service Manager Certificate is preferred.
