Leave Replacement Literacy TeacherRobert Moses Middle School – North Babylon Union Free School DistrictLocation: North Babylon, NYPosition Type: Leave ReplacementDates of Assignment: October 27, 2025 – December 9, 2025Robert Moses Middle School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Certified Literacy Teacher to fill a leave replacement position from October 27, 2025 through December 9, 2025. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of adolescent literacy development, differentiated instruction, and a commitment to supporting all learners in a middle school setting.Responsibilities include:Providing literacy instruction to students in accordance with New York State Learning StandardsDeveloping engaging lessons that foster reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking skillsCollaborating with ELA and support staff to assess student progress and adjust instruction as neededCommunicating effectively with students, families, and colleaguesMaintaining accurate records of student achievement and attendanceQualifications:Valid New York State Certification in Literacy (Grades 5–12 or equivalent)Strong knowledge of reading and writing instructional strategiesExperience working with middle school students preferredExcellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsThis is a temporary position to cover a scheduled leave.
