Anticipated Vacancy 2024School Lunch Manager is responsible for managing the overall food service operation for the District. They lead a team of food service employees and act as liaisons between food service, the school administration, staff, students, and the community.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:plans and supervises the preparation and service of meals for all seven schools with due regard for nutritional values, acceptability and budgetary limitations;plans and reviews menus according to USDA Nutrition Standards for School Meals; maintains approved standards of sanitation, health and safety;supervises and trains school lunch personnel, makes staff assignments while, directing, and evaluating their work;recruitment and hiring of school lunch personnel;directs the purchase of food, supplies & equipment; receives, inspects, stores and distributes supplies and maintains inventories and related records;supervises the collection of and accounting of cash receipts;oversees all matters concerning lunch program policies & procedures; makes reports relating to school lunch program activities;provides information to school staff, students and community agencies which will promote interest in the program. Suffolk County Civil Service Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a college with a BA in nutrition, nutrition education, food service management, dietetics, family & consumer sciences, culinary arts, business or a related field or BA issued by a federally authorized accreditation or registration and a NY state recognized certification as a Dietician/Nutritionist or a BA degree from a college with federally authorized accreditation or registration with five (5) years experience in the management of school nutrition programs.Applicants must currently hold this Civil Service title or be on the current Civil Service list for this title only, and be reachable.
