The Department of Special Education is seeking a School Psychologist to provide services and social/emotional learning development to students at various Nassau BOCES locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conducting psychological re-evaluations Developing and monitoring Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) Delivering individual and group counseling as per student Individualized Education Plan (IEP) mandates Participating in crisis interventions and trainings Collaborating with a multidisciplinary staff to support student needs Conducting parent and district outreach Attending annual review meetings and participating in screenings Supporting students' social, emotional and behavioral needs Maintaining accurate records, counseling logs and Medicaid related documents REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification: School Psychologist Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills Experience with Chairing Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, 504 meetings, mandated counseling and risk assessments is preferred Experience with FBAs and BIPs, as well as working with students with disabilities is preferred Two or more years of related experience is preferred
