The Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking an Assistant Executive Manager to support departmental programs and services. This position is responsible for providing personnel management support across Special Education programs and Central Office, including advising building administrators on staffing, performance, and employee relations matters, as well as the oversight of organizational systems to support a growing student population. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Monitoring and tracking staff vacancies; coordinating with Human Resources on recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes Reviewing probationary staff observations and collaborating with administrative staff on performance evaluations and tenure recommendations Fostering collaborative relationships with administrators and collective bargaining units to support effective communication and organizational alignment Presenting regularly at department administrator meetings to provide guidance, ensure continuity of systems and practices, and support ongoing reflection and improvement Overseeing student enrollment to plan appropriately for staffing needs across all Special Education programs Participating in employee-related meetings (e.g. disciplinary, accommodation) for certified and classified staff, ensuring adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification: School District Leader (SDL), School District Administrator (SDA), or School Building Leader (SBL) NYSED Certification in Special Education preferred
