*** ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***Description: The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology is seeking a School Social Worker to provide services to students in various Nassau BOCES programs or non-public schools throughout Nassau County. The successful candidate will work closely with the administration of the assigned school(s). Students benefiting from this service may include those with social, emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Participate in the Committee for Special Education (CSE) process for students at various locations.Provide individual and/or group counseling sessions for students.Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate referrals and consultation.Collaborate with all members of the school community and participate in staff meetings.Maintain accurate, appropriate, and timely records and reports.Requirements: New York State Education Department Certification as a School Social Worker.Valid and current license as Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Two or more years of related experience is preferred.Ability to travel throughout Nassau County.*** ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***
