The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking highly qualified applicants to apply for the anticipated position of a full-time Work Based Learning Coordinator. This position will be located at the Joseph M. Barry Career and Technical Education Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for hosting career-focused meetings with teachers as well as industry partners and build an advisory board for each cluster of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with classroom CTE teachers, academic teachers and school counselors. Create and develop relationships with businesses in a variety of professions. Develop work opportunities throughout Nassau County for CTE students, including connecting students with apprenticeship programs, internships and employment. Oversee career awareness activities and experiences and supervise students when they have been placed in a worksite. Ensure that work-based learning experiences are available for all students in approved programs. Maintain accurate data on work experiences for the New York State Department of Education. Act as the main point of contact for all employment calls, requests and issues. REQUIREMENTS: New York State Department of Education Certification: Career and Education Teacher – 7-12. New York State Department of Education Certification: Coordinator of Work-Based Learning Programs Extension. Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workload. Excellent organizational skills, detail orientated and the ability to work with data. Expertise with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to build relationships with people at all levels of an organization, students, families and colleagues. Ability to travel throughout Nassau County. SALARY: As per contract
