These services are provided by highly qualified professionals, all of whom are certified and/or licensed. The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology seeks a Supervisor II for this program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Supervise and evaluate school psychologists and social workers in various settings.Recruit, hire and train new school psychologists and social workers.Advise Nassau BOCES staff, as needed, in decisions related to implementing support services for students at various sites.Coordinate professional development activities.Participate actively in program design and implement program initiatives.Collaborate with supervisors in Health and Allied Services to enhance Nassau BOCES’ services and programs.Manage consultants hired for various student-related services.Participate in contract negotiations with Nassau County and Suffolk County school districts to determine mental health staffing needs within non-public schools.Maintain psychological testing inventory and mental health resources within the department.Coordinate speech services for non-public schools within Nassau County.Requirements:New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA).Master’s of Social Work, Psychology, Educational Psychology or School Psychology.NYSED certification: School Social Worker or School Psychologist.Working knowledge of NYSED laws and guidelines pertaining to school psychologists and school social workers.Experience working with students and/or staff of diverse cultures and philosophies.Minimum of five years of experience in the title of School Social Worker or School Psychologist.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to travel within Nassau County and Suffolk County.*** IN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***
