*** IN ADDITION TO APPLYIN ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***The Department of Human Resources is seeking an experienced administrator to assist in providing leadership and management of all operational aspects serving over 4,500 full and part-time employees in various job titles and capacities. Successful applicants should be able to: Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in Human Resources. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external personnel (e.g., Agency Leaders, Union Leaders, District Leaders, employees) to provide leadership, guidance and technical support as well as ensure accuracy and consistency in personnel procedures.Supervise, monitor and evaluate the HR personnel staff’s administrative functions (e.g., recruitment and hiring, disciplinary actions, tenure-seniority rights, benefits and retirement rights, Workers’ Compensation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Continuing Teacher and Leader Education requirements (CTLE), PeopleSoft HR, etc.) as well as Agency-wide certified and classified staff either directly or through subordinates. Manage and analyze budgets including expenditures and revenue generated from the following District services: Regional Advertising, Online Application System (OLAS), Diversity Recruitment, Interim Placement Program, Automated Substitute Placement, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Regional Certification. Prepare and maintain a wide variety of complex written materials to document activities and issues, meet compliance requirements, provide audit references, make presentations and provide supporting materials as needed for Agency activities.Provide accurate interpretations and recommendations, which align with Federal, New York State and local laws/policies (e.g., Board policies, New York State Education Department. and Civil Service law, etc.) which impact personnel matters such as employee contracts, collective bargaining agreements, etc. Experience as a counselor, social worker or psychologist preferred. REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification – School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) and School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) is preferred. Experience as a Central/District Office administrator preferred. Ability to create and execute effective professional development and training.
