The School Social Worker will work closely with the administration of the assigned school(s). Students benefiting from this service may include those with social, emotional, behavioral and/or learning challenges. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Participate in the Committee for Special Education (CSE) process for students at the assigned location. Provide individual and/or group counseling sessions for students. Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate referrals. Collaborate with all members of the school community and participate in staff meetings. Maintain accurate, appropriate and timely records and reports. Other duties assigned by the building administrators as needed. Requirements:New York State Education Department Certification – School Social Worker and a valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
