The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking a Police Science teacher to teach units of study in both Police Science and Criminal Justice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in one of the most dynamic, state-of-the-art facilities in Nassau County. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching both first and second year-levels of the program Teaching a diverse group of 11th and 12th grade students using different modalities of learning including classroom instruction, project-based learning, and hands-on skills to be college and career ready for a variety of professions such as law-enforcement, security, corrections, and other public safety occupations Preparing lessons that include the practical application of skills taught in the classroom and student internships during the school year REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification: Emergency Law Enforcement Services 7-12 (Transitional A, Initial, or Professional) Two or more years of verified experience in the field of law enforcement, judiciary or security Prior experience teaching or working with the secondary student population is preferred
