The ENL teacher holds primary responsibilities of designing and implementing direct ENL instruction and collaborating with special education teachers to provide English language support in other content areas. Additionally, the ENL teacher will:Provide direct ENL instruction to small groups of students and/or provide support for content classes containing English Language Learner (ELL) students, based on CR-154 requirements.Advise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for ENL students and share best practices to ensure high quality instruction.Create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported and challenged.Administer New York State mandated assessments for ELL’s.Requirements:Master’s degree and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification.Possess a strong skill set in collaborative teamwork.Experience teaching in underserved areas is preferred.New York State Education Department certification in Special Education is preferred.Bilingual and diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.*** IN ADDITON TO APPLYING ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***
