Description:The Nassau BOCES Department of Curriculum, Instruction & Technology is seeking a Program Specialist II – ELA/Social Studies Professional Developer.Responsibilities include:Assisting the program supervisor in the planning, management, and delivery of customized professional development for K-12 Nassau County teachers and administrators in English Language Arts and Social StudiesFacilitating professional development sessions with a focus on technology integration in ELA and Social Studies content areas aligned with New York State Learning StandardsCollaborating with district personnel on special projects related to data analysis, curriculum support and instructionPerforming other related duties, as assignedRequirements:NYSED Professional Teaching Certification is required3+ years of teaching and/or administrative experience is also requiredNYSED Administrative Certification (SDA/SDL) is preferredExpert knowledge of NYS Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards and NYS Social Studies Framework and StandardsExperience with instructional technology integration, staff development trends, and learning theoryExcellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and communication skillsAbility to travel within Nassau CountyApply on OLAS and to complete the application please Click here
