The Department of Special Education anticipates positions for Temporary/Substitute Psychologists. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:Conduct screenings of students referred to Nassau BOCES by their home school districtConduct psychological re-evaluations for special education studentsDevelop and monitor Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention PlansSupport students’ emotional, behavioral, and management needsDeliver group and individual counseling as per student IEP mandatesMaintain accurate records, counseling logs and Medicaid related documentsRequirements: NYSED School Psychologist certification requiredNYS Psychologist License or License eligible highly preferredStrong behavioral training/experience or BCBAKnowledge of current trends in school psychology, research methods, testing, evaluation techniques and familiarity with commonly used diagnostic testsExpertise in providing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention PlansExperience working with children & adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders highly preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills
