VACANCYPosition – Short-Term Leave Replacement for Art: Leave replacement beginning on or about April 24, 2026 Salary & Benefits pursuant to MTA Agreement.Certification: New York State Art K-12 or Visual Arts RequiredThe successful candidate will: Deliver high-quality instruction across Studio Art, Sculpture, Ceramics, Drawing, and Painting. Lead students in the conceptualization, design, and execution of public art projects (murals, site-specific installations, or community-based works) within the school or local neighborhood. Mentor upper-level students in building competitive portfolios for college admissions and AP Art and Design submissions. Teach fundamental and advanced techniques, including color theory, anatomy, Organize and curate student art shows, both on-campus and in digital galleries. hand-building, wheel-throwing, and additive/subtractive sculptural methods. Foster a classroom environment where constructive critique is a central part of the creative process.
