EFFECTIVE DATE OF ASSIGNMENT: July 1, 2026 LOCATION: High School STARTING SALARY: $83,000.00 - $100,000.00 salary DOE + Competitive salary / benefit package DAYS PER YEAR: 260 REQUIRED CERTIFICATION: A valid NYS Teaching Certificate in School District Leader or School Building Leader (or equivalents) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION: Build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the school community. Make decisions in the best interests of students. Be professional (defined as a guaranteed level of competence), trustworthy, compassionate, and respectful. Monitor student learning and progress and initiate change as needed. Set attainable goals that are measurable and timely focusing on student learning. Collaborate with district and building leadership teams to achieve common goals for which all members are mutually accountable. MATERIALS TO BE SUBMITTED: Completed administrative application including a Letter of Interest (Cover Letter) and Resume A photocopy of your New York State Administrative Certification (or status if pending) Credentials File or three (3) letters of recommendation College transcripts (copies of all your undergraduate and / or graduate) PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the broader school community. Collaborate with the building principal and assistant principal to achieve common goals for which all members are mutually accountable. Support the building principal focusing on high academic achievement and social-emotional development of all students. Support the building principal with leading, inspiring, and holding staff accountable for student academic growth, professional behavior, and culturally responsive and respectful practices. SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for supporting the development of a master schedule that addresses all students needs using known building resources (faculty and staff). Provide appropriate supervision for non-classroom activities before, during, and after school, lunch, and boarding buses at dismissal as directed by the building principal. Support the planning for assemblies, orientation programs, student meetings, graduation, open house, and other events as directed by the building principal. Encourage and support the piloting of new curriculum projects, developments, and materials as directed by the building principal. Evaluate the performance of teachers, as specified in established evaluation guidelines based on classroom visits and other information. Support the supervision of the work of the school's clerical staff. Promote a school culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion. In collaboration with the building principal, assistant principal, and school staff, cultivate a student-centered learning environment where all people are treated with respect and dignity. Other responsibilities as determined by the superintendent of schools in consultation with the building principal and assistant superintendent(s) EVALUATION Evaluated by the Building Principal Report directly to Building Principal Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Assistant Superintendent of Business and Personnel Superintendent of Schools
