GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Martin De Porres School for Exceptional Children (MDP) is a 501c3 not for profit organization that has been serving youth for over 50 years. We run an Elementary/Middle School, High School and a residential program with a work force of approximately 160 dedicated people. The Human Resources Generalist will support The Martin De Porres School for Exceptional Children by adhering to our mission (To educate children experiencing emotional and behavioral problems) our vision (Through education, every child entrusted to our care will have the opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential) and our core value of respect, integrity, leadership and service. The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to the Human Resources Director on all personnel matters. The individual will be responsible for supporting HR processes, scheduling appointments, maintaining records and information. The Human Resources Generalist will be entrusted with highly confidential employee information and is expected to maintain appropriate discretion when handling or discussing employee related matters. This position will consistently communicate within the agency to the educational, residential and business office sites to ensure that all HR issues are being addresses in a timely manner. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:BA/BS Degree in Human Resources or related fieldPHR, SHRM-CP preferredKnowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources work experience. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:Assists in maintaining employee information in HRIS (ADP) by entering and updating employment and status-change dataMaintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidentialProvides administrative support by entering, formatting and printing information; organizing work flow; answering phone calls; relaying messages; maintaining equipment and suppliesAssists with background check processesAssist with benefit management including enrollments, terminations and changesResponsible for maintaining employee files including filing of all HR related paperworkPrepares new employee filesRespond to employment verification inquiriesAssist in preparation of paperwork associated with disability, workers compensation, PFL and FMLAContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededComplete HR related special projectsAssist with HR data collection and reportingInteract with program management to address questions related to Human Resources policies and proceduresAssist with employee complaint resolutionAssist with recruiting duties including posting ads, onboarding and orientation of new employeesResponsible for maintaining employee time off records and addressing employees on any issues that arise regarding time off.Act as back up to the Human Resources Director on all HR mattersEnsure a neat, orderly, and clean Martin De Porres Human Resources OfficeOther duties as needed.
