Middleburgh Central School District is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and dual-certified Physical Education and Health Teacher for a dual tenure-track position at the secondary level (Grades 7–12). We are looking for an energetic educator dedicated to promoting lifelong wellness, physical literacy, and healthy decision-making in our secondary students. Position Details Role: Physical Education & Health Teacher (Dual Tenure Track) Students: Grades 7–12 Start Date: September 1, 2026 Application Deadline: We are conducting interviews as applications are submitted, so please apply by the close of business on July 17, 2026. Key Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive, engaging, and standards-aligned Physical Education and Health curricula tailored to secondary students (Grades 7-12). Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages students of all athletic and fitness levels to participate and grow. Instruct students on the principles of health and wellness, including physical fitness, nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and healthy relationships. Assess student progress in both physical skill development and health knowledge, utilizing data to inform instruction. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and the community to promote school-wide wellness initiatives. Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and progress records for both PE and Health classes. Qualifications and Skills Dual New York State certification required: Physical Education AND Health Education. Demonstrated understanding of adolescent physical and emotional development. Strong knowledge of current NYS physical education and health learning standards. Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills, whether in a gymnasium, outdoor setting, or traditional classroom. A strong commitment to helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed for healthy, active lifestyles.
