Mayfield Central School District, located in Mayfield, New York, near Great Sacandaga Lake, and approximately 40 miles northwest of Albany, is seeking an Elementary School Principal for our Pre-K-6 Building. Must have Administrative Certification. FUNCTIONS: To serve as the primary point of contact with students, parents and staff on all issues relating to the daily operation of the school, including attendance, code of conduct, facilities, transportation, and classroom management.Promote a positive climate for learning, communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.Supervising and evaluating teachers and teaching aides. Creating and maintaining a Master Schedule.Provide Professional development for staff through faculty meetings. Oversight of curriculum in all subject areas.Promote the use of technology with teaching. RESPONSIBILITIES:To oversee the functioning of the school daily and to coordinate efforts of staff members with respect to student attendance, health and safety, pupil personnel services, staff and student schedules, general employment issues, transportation, co-curricular and athletic activities, outside use of the building and other areas defined by the building principal.To investigate misconduct and to assign and monitor penalties according to the Code of Conduct.To oversee provisions for youth with intensive needs so that the school, parents, and other agencies work in a collaborative manner.To participate as an administrator in such general issues as program development, employment issues, staff selection, student requirements, pupil personnel services, course selection processes and scheduling. QUALIFICATIONS:Possess certification or certificate of qualification for certification as a school administrator.Demonstrate a record of effectiveness in areas related to responsibilities.Possess a willingness to expand scope of responsibilities and to devote the time required to successfully fulfill responsibilities.Apply on OLAS
