The Mayfield Central School District is located near the Great Sacandaga Lake and is approximately 30 minutes northwest of Saratoga in the heart of the foothills of the Adirondack. Assistant Principal Expectations: · Maintain a safe, orderly and productive learning environment; · Supervise instructional and non-instructional elementary staff, including teachers, teaching assistants, aides and monitor staff; · Evaluate teachers and staff following district APPR guidelines and instructional framework models; · Address student discipline issues utilizing age-appropriate, restorative practices; process discipline referrals and ensure robust communication and follow-through with teachers, parents, and students; · Coordinate and provide active, visible supervision for high-density elementary transitions, including morning arrival, cafeteria lunch periods, playground recess, and afternoon dismissals; ·Assistant Principal Key Qualities: · Proven ability to motivate staff and students to achieve excellence; · Team development and leadership skills; · Ability to work collaboratively with staff members, and administrators; · Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the community; · Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Job Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: · NY State Certification, SBL, SAS or SDA required · Record of outstanding teaching and personal qualities of good character · Possess a willingness to expand scope of responsibilities and to devote the time required to successfully fulfill responsibilities · Excellent judgement and decision-making and most importantly, enthusiasm for learning and a genuine love of children
