POSITION: Hommocks Lifeguard DATE POSITIONS BECOME AVAILABLE: August 31, 2026 Location: Hommocks Middle School Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-3:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch 10 month position The Mamaroneck Union Free School District, a proud member of the League of Innovative Schools, seeks educators who exemplify ingenuity and foster academic excellence, bringing an equity-minded, intellectually curious approach to their work. Responsibilities of Positions Include: Maintain order in the pool, deck, and locker room areas, including before, during and after class. Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of professionalism. Constant surveillance of students in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of students in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Follow emergency action plans and procedures established in the event of an emergency. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Performs miscellaneous job-related supervision assignments and duties as assigned through administrator and PE teachers. Monitor activities at the pool to prevent accidents. Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations in a friendly and helpful manner. Maintain a high standard of professional service, including promotion of aquatic programs, and support of Physical Education teachers before, during and after class periods. Reports To: Joe Toombs, Dave Halbreich, Director & Assistant Director of Health, PE & Athletics, Matthew Samuelson, HMX Principal Requirements: 3 years’ experience as a lifeguard Current CPR & First Aid Certified Red Cross (or equivalent); Current certification as Lifeguard by Red Cross (or equivalent) Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
