MAMARONECK UFSD OFFICE OF PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Chatsworth Elementary School Principal - Probationary POSITION AVAILABLE: July 1, 2026 The Mamaroneck Union Free School District seeks a visionary and strategic instructional leader to serve as Principal of Chatsworth Ave School. Grounded in our MAMARONext Strategic Framework, we are committed to cultivating learning environments where inquiry, curiosity, integrity, and community define our culture and where every student is empowered to thrive. We seek a leader who can both articulate a compelling vision for teaching and learning and translate that vision into coherent systems, measurable outcomes, and sustained improvement. The successful candidate will champion personalization, mentorship, and educator expertise while ensuring disciplined alignment to district priorities, the New York State Learning Standards, and the New York State Portrait of a Graduate. This leader will inspire innovation, build strong relationships, and steward a high-performing school community prepared for the future. RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary instructional leader, advancing a coherent vision of teaching and learning grounded in personalization, authentic inquiry, and alignment to New York State Learning Standards Promote an inclusive learning environment across general and special education programs Communicate effectively and consistently with staff members, families and community partnerships/PTAs Model strategic communication practices with an engaged and supportive community Promote equitable access to tiered instruction and RTI support for all students Develop and coordinate an approach to student discipline consistent with the District Code of Conduct, the SEQuity Framework, and Restorative Practices. Engage families, community members, and key stakeholders in creating a transparent learning environment Nurture the professional growth of faculty Evaluate effective teaching practices as aligned with the yearly APPR requirements and provide for continuous feedback loops to improve instructional and professional practices. Cultivate educator voice and leadership through shared decision-making structures and collaborative professional learning communities Collaborate with Buildings and Grounds to plan for and implement capital improvement projects that maintain and update facilities and learning spaces Lead disciplined cycles of innovation and improvement using multiple data sources to drive strategic planning, refine practice, and measure impact Align school goals, resource allocation, and professional learning to the District scorecard and strategic priorities Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, high-performing staff committed to excellence and equity Prepare and manage the school budget strategically, aligning resources to instructional priorities and measurable outcomes Oversee school safety, emergency preparedness, and crisis response planning to maintain a secure and supportive environment POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: NYS SAS, SDA, or SBL Certification Minimum of five years successful building-level leadership experience, preferably at the elementary school level Minimum of five years successful teaching experience Demonstrated success articulating and implementing a coherent instructional vision grounded in personalization, inquiry, and school improvement. Proven ability to translate strategic priorities into aligned systems, structures, and measurable student outcomes Strong knowledge of New York State Learning Standards (K-5), accountability systems, and the New York State Portrait of a Graduate Experience fostering a culture of dignity, belonging Evidence of building adult capacity through supervision, professional learning, shared decision-making, and collaborative inquiry Strong data literacy and experience leading disciplined cycles of continuous improvement Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated ability to unite diverse stakeholders around a shared mission APPLICATION DEADLINE : May 26, 2026 Ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply. .
