Assistant Superintendent for Student Support ServicesMamaroneck UFSDThe Mamaroneck School District is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to fulfill the role of Assistant Superintendent for Student Support Services. This is a twelve-month administrative position that is responsible for the leadership of all Student Support Services. POSITION AVAILABLE: January 3, 2023 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision and support all Student Support Services personnel: Directors of Special Education, coordinators and department chairs for Speech, Psychology, Guidance, Nursing, Social Work, behavior intervention specialists, occupational therapists, and special education direct and related service personnel across the district Management of program development and staffing Coordination of evaluation and professional development leading to special education best practices Oversight of compliance with all legal mandates for students with disabilities Collaboration with the Central Office Team in all aspects of district operation and planning Consultation and collaboration with district counsel to ensure compliance and knowledge of federal and state rules and regulation in Special Education, 504, discipline, and crisis intervention Facilitation of monthly District Wide Crisis Team meetings and crisis response efforts Oversight and participation in Due Process proceedings Completion of state reports as required by above responsibilities Chair of CSEs and Manifestation Reviews 504 Compliance Officer Sexual Harassment Compliance Officer for all employee and student matters that include sexual harassmentPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Commitment to equity and academic excellence for all children Thorough knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations in Special Education and 504 related to a large district program Understanding of transformative and inclusive instructional practices Ability to identify areas of improvement, collaboratively solve problems, and develop improvement plans Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Collaborative and welcoming leadership style Ethnically, culturally and linguistically diverse candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
