Fostering and maintaining these beliefs supports high expectations and an ethic of care for all students and employees – where differences are seen as strengths to be nourished, celebrated, and welcomed.RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaboration and communication with administration and staff on behalf of students success Support students academic, emotional and behavioral needs as indicated by their IEPsProvide the teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiencesKnowledge of de-escalation and self-management strategies and implementation and the willingness to obtain and employ Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training.Data collection and implementation of behavior plans.Assist with related instructional work as requiredMaintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records (e.g. lessons, attendance, pencils, paper, teaching supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reports, or meeting mandated requirementsPerforms general tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials readyREQUIREMENTS: Candidates must hold a NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.
