RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, prepare and deliver culturally responsive lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and engagementConduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needsCommunicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growthUtilize relevant technology and instructional materials to support and differentiate instructionEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleaguesDemonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural and economic backgroundsEncourage family involvement in students’ education and ensure effective communication with students and familiesPromote a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming and affirming for all students Work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planningCommunicate effectively orally and in writingUse data analysis to create individual student improvement plansProvide collegial coaching and modeling of small group and tiered math instruction. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: In depth knowledge of Bridges in Mathematics Curriculum Thorough knowledge of the NYS elementary learning standardsKnowledge of the RTI process and ability to effectively communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growthDemonstrated knowledge of NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining FrameworksAbility to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomes.Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seek professional learning opportunities Possession of appropriate New York State Teacher Certification Ability to provide professional development in elementary math practicesWillingness to engage in small-group work and collaborate with classroom teachers in a "push-in" model.Collaborate with district Math Coach on curriculum roll-out initiativesSignificant understanding of how children learn and understand mathematical concepts in grades K-5.Strong ability to examine, understand, and use student data associated to improve instruction, provide remediation and enrichment.
