Title: Elementary STEM Teacher – Probationary Location: Shared between two Elementary Schools (TBD) Position Available: September 1, 2022 Supervisor: Director of STEM, K-12 Responsibilities and Duties:Provide STEM expertise at the elementary level, promoting active, engaging, and hands-on learning experiences in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematicsLead the development and implementation of authentic, project-based, interdisciplinary curricular unitsPossess comprehensive understanding of the following:NYS Elementary Science Learning Standards (P-2 and 3-5)NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency (K-1, 2-3, and 4-6)5E Model of InstructionMaintain materials and equipment within new STEM Learning Hubs in multiple schools Engage in professional development to stay current with new developments in STEM educationWork collaboratively with STEM colleagues across the district to develop a consistent and coherent vision of STEM education Requirements:Appropriate New York teacher certification Experience with STEM instruction preferredExperience with makerspace tools and technology preferred Salary: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
