Elementary Special Education Certification RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPERIENCE:Experience in a therapeutic, highly supportive, structured and predictable school setting with clear and consistent expectations and a positive reinforcement system.Provide direct instruction and in the moment coaching in academic, social-emotional, behavioral and self-regulation skills in order for students to access the general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment as indicated by the IEP. Differentiate lesson plans within the special class environmentIEP development including assessment, goals, modifications, and accommodationsData collection and implementation of individual behavior plansIdentify tools and systems to progress monitor all aspects of the students’ learningCollaborate and communicate regularly and effectively with program staff, administration and parents on behalf of the student’s success PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:A professional, patient, and calm demeanor with elementary school studentsExperience with children who have attentional, behavioral/emotional, and academic challenges Compensation: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
