RESPONSIBILITIES: Modified Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the modified team, including, but not limited to: Strong ability to clearly communicate expectations with all stakeholders, i.e. administration, head of program, athletes, and families Serve as the primary point of contact for players, parents/families within your boys' modified soccer team Attend all games, practices, and required coaches' meetings Work with Varsity and JV Head Coaches on an evaluation rubric for a 3-5 day tryout Create and facilitate a daily practice plan, emphasizing technical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship Work collaboratively with the other Boys’ Soccer Head Coaches on philosophies, practice plans, and game schedules for the season Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture/environment that prioritizes safety as well as encourages hard work, discipline, and teamwork Serve as a role model for players, and encourage sportsmanship and team unity both on and off the field Assist with equipment, including issuing and collecting equipment, and ensuring it is used properly and safely Record and inventory uniforms and equipment before and after each season Coordinate facility needs and repairs with maintenance, athletic office, and school employees Adhere to NYSPHSAA, Section 1, and school policies & regulations REPORTS TO: Director & Assistant Director of Health, PE & Athletics REQUIREMENTS Experience: Previous coaching experience, with high school-aged athletes Knowledge of NYS and NFHS boys’ soccer rules and regulations. Certifications: NYS teaching license and/or NYS coaching license in boys' soccer Valid CPR/AED/First Aid (in compliance with NYSED) Child Abuse, Violence Prevention, Mandated Reporting and DASA SALARY: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association Ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
