Title: Teaching Assistant - Probationary Location: Mamaroneck High School Supervisor: Principal Position Available: Immediate Vacancy Requirements: Candidate must either hold or be eligible for N.Y.S. Teaching Assistant Certification Responsibilities: · Monitoring students in school detention or to assist with restorative interventions· Maintaining accurate student consequence and progress monitoring records· On-going communication with administration· Coordinating with teachers for academic work for students. Coordinating with counseling department with assistance for restorative interventions.· Willing to participate in job-related trainings· Managing multiple students throughout the day Qualities and Related Skills: · High level of personal motivation· Excellent organizational skills· Dependable· Good communication skills· Proactive problem-solver· Builds strong rapport with students. · Serves as excellent role model· Experience with high school population is preferred· Experience with a diverse population is preferred· Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred· Behavioral modification and restorative justice training is a plus, but not required Compensation: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
