The Mahopac Central School District anticipates an opening for a Director of Technology/CIO. The Director of Technology supervises the district’s technology personnel, infrastructure and operations, as well as the staff development efforts that emphasize integrating technology into the curriculum. It involves overseeing the instruction of students in the use of computers and a variety of software applications. The Director also oversees the operation of the administrative computer applications and provides consultation, guidance and direction for the area of District Operations. The successful candidate will: Support and coordinate the work of teachers, teaching assistants, clerical staff assigned to the technology department and network technicians working closely with other administrators to ensure the effectiveness of integrating technology into the total educational program. Have knowledge of technology applications within the educational and administrative environmentHave thorough knowledge of organizational management, public and business administration and budgetingHave familiarity with schools and latest educational philosophies and trendsAct as District’s Chief Information Officer (CIO)responsible for data collection and reportingHave the ability to work effectively with district administration, administrative and technical staffPossess good planning and development skills Hold valid New York State SDA or SDL certificationPreferably have a minimum of four years of experience in an educational technology setting including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
