MAHOPAC CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTSCHOOL DISTRICT CLERKThe Mahopac Central School District is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized School District Clerk. The work is performed under the general direction of the Mahopac Central School District Board of Education, in accordance with Section 2121 and other applicable sections of New York State Education Law. The individual acts as Clerk to the elected members of the Board of Education with responsibility for notification of meetings, preparing and distributing agendas (on BoardDocs); preparing official minutes of meetings; maintaining records and acting as Records Access Officer and Records Management Officer; and providing information on Board activities. Acts as liaison between the Board and the Superintendent of Schools and between the Board and the public. Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years of secretarial, administrative, or office management experience involving the use of automated office equipment, preferably in a public school system; orEmployment in a private setting incorporating secretarial, administrative or management experience may be substituted for each year of the above stated experience.Ability to communicate with staff members at all levels and members of the community with tact, courtesy, and professionalismProficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Documents, and other software used by the DistrictExcellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skillsNotary Public or willing to complete requirements to become a Notary PublicSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of school district organization operations and administrative policiesHave proficiency or must immediately become proficient in BoardDocs, the software system used for Board meetings and policies.Basic knowledge of State Code as it relates to School BoardsKnowledge of compliance requirements as Records Access OfficerTypical Work Activities: (Illustrative Only)Attends public Board of Education meetings and keeps accurate records of their proceedingsGives required notice of time and place of every regular, annual, and special district meetingPrepares and assembles and distributes the calendar, agenda items, material, and documentation for Board of Education meetings.Supplies notice of election or appointment of officers to the press and publicPrepares registry of qualified voters for all district electionsOversees the budget vote, proposition votes, and the voting for the election of members of the Board of EducationKeeps all records, books and papers belonging to the officePrepares legal notices for publication as directed by the School BoardServes as Records Access Officer and ensures compliance with the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL)Acts as Notary Public for the DistrictParticipates in regional District Clerk meetings and conferencesPerforms all the clerical and other duties customary to the office of District Clerk (such as handling official correspondence for the District and the Board)Please apply EITHER online through OLAS via www.olasjobs.org OR email your resume and cover letter to:humanresources@mahopac.orgDeadline for submission: Monday, May 12, 2025Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2025Compensation: Highly competitive salary and benefits commensurate with related experience
