School District Treasurer, Accountant I or Accountant II Preferred (Full-Time) Liverpool Central School District Effective July 1, 2026 The Liverpool Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School District Treasurer. The District serves approximately 6,500 students and operates with an annual budget of approximately $215 million. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the District's treasury functions, including cash management, investments, banking relationships, debt service transactions, financial reporting, and other fiscal operations in accordance with New York State Education Law and District policies. Preferred Qualifications: Civil Service qualifications for Accountant 1 or Accountant 2 Experience in governmental, municipal, or school district accounting and finance Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management Ability to work collaboratively with District administrators, auditors, financial institutions, and the Board of Education Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills New York HELPS Program The Accountant 1 and Accountant 2 titles are currently included in the New York State HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide) Program, which temporarily waives certain Civil Service examination requirements for qualified candidates. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for these titles may be eligible for appointment without having taken a Civil Service examination, in accordance with New York State Civil Service guidelines. Salary: $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
