The Lindenhurst UFSD is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations. Candidates must possess the NYS SDL and SDBL certifications. Previous experience in this role or a similar capacity preferred. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:Supervise the financial affairs of the district, including handling of all funds, accounting and reporting procedures, and long-range planning.Assist the Superintendent of Schools in responsibility for budget development and long-range planning.Oversee student transportation procedures.Maintain an up-to-date inventory of school property, supplies and equipment.Oversee the school lunch program.Prepare financial reports as required by state and federal agencies having jurisdiction over public schools fund.Assist the Superintendent and negotiating attorney in providing necessary statistical data and financial information necessary for successful contractual negotiations.Prepare monthly and annual financial reports as required.Assume responsibility for insurance records and insurance accounting.Initiate contacts with vendors relative to supply and equipment availability, invoices, purchase orders and contracts.Collaborate with the Purchasing Agent in the preparation of all bidding documents, including notice to bidders, instructions to bidders, specifications, and forms of proposals.Attend all meetings of the Board of Education and meetings of Committees of the Board of Education as required by the Superintendent of Schools.Work with External, Internal, Claims, and Comptroller auditors.Apply for Capital Construction work through the NYS Education Department.Plan and implement district bond issuance.Oversee the writing and appropriation of grants.Manage and implement Central Registration Salary commensurate with experience.
