REQUIREMENTS: NYS Certification Earth Science (7-12)RESPONSIBILITIES:The Teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum.Develop lesson plans and assignments to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.Explain science concepts and principles to students in a comprehensible manner. Incorporate hands-on laboratory activities into instruction where appropriate.Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan.Grading students’ assignments and exams.Evaluate and maintain records of student progress and performance. Collaborate with other teachers and keep parents informed of student progress.QUALIFICATIONS:In depth knowledge of Earth Science. Comprehensive understanding of high school science content, including relevant scientific principles and theories.Experience as an HS Science teacher preferred.Proven leadership, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to engage, motivate and challenge students.Understanding of modern teaching techniques and use of classroom technologies.START: ~February 26, 2026SALARY: $175 per day
