Location: John Jay Middle School Anticipated Start Date: ASAP through a To Be Determined Date Qualifications: NYS Certification Required. Responsibilities: Robust knowledge of adolescent development. Strong communication skills. The willingness to model and infuse a growth mindset. The desire and ability to consistently model empathy. A tendency to enact active listening skills. The aptitude to build positive and healthy relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administration. An understanding of how to enact culturally relevant practices. Hours: Full-Time, Temporary Salary: Long-term substitute teachers work 30 days or more but less than five months and are compensated $110/day for the first 30 days; on the 31 st day (assuming the prior 30 days were consecutive workdays) the daily rate is increased to $317.42, retroactive to the first day of the assignment.
